The industrial wastes can be chemical solvents, paints, sandpaper, industrial by-products, metals, and radioactive wastes to organic waste ,garbage, dirt, gravel, concrete, metals, trash, oil, solvents, chemicals, weed grass and trees, wood and similar wastes etc.

Liquid waste includes effulents from refineries and number of chemical industries. Water used for various processes results in most of the effulent like for cooling , washing etc. and generated by acids, alkalies, detergents, copper, zinc, lead , mercury, pesticides. 3)Inorganic and chemical waste includes the minerals acids and mine runoff. Most of the substances are toxic and health hazards. Mine drainage is important source of increased acidity in water. Mining of sulphur bearing ores lead to acid drainage. Sewage treatment plant STP :Not only industries but also households of civil societies, hotels generate huge wastes solids(garbage) n liquids called sewage . we at SBC urge to recycle and reuse the water generated as waste n which directly flushed in to gutters. Biomedical Waste :

It includes human anatomical waste, discarded medicines, toxic drugs, blood, liquid and chemical waste associated with medical operations treatment, pathological investigation. Microbiological and biotechnological waste also comes under biomedical waste. It could be defined as liquid or solid waste. Any institution like hospital, nursing home, clinic, dispensaries must ensure proper handling and management of biomedical waste according to the guidelines laid down by ministry of environment and forest, government of India.

Solid wastes generated from industries include inorganic and organic materials. Some of the industrial waste can be recycled to produce energy. Other type of wastes is either land filled or incinerated.

Hazardous waste : - waste from refineries, metallurgical and electroplating industries, pickling, pharmaceutical, pesticide and dye In the industrial sector, the major generators of hazardous waste are the metal, chemical, paper, pesticide, dye, refining, and rubber goods industries. Direct exposure to chemicals in hazardous waste such as mercury and cyanide can be fatal. Part of the hazardous waste includes mining wastes in which residues are obtained from extraction from earth. India generates around 7 million tonnes of hazardous wastes every year.In terms of quantity mining industry probably exceeds all other industries in terms of solid waste.

E-Waste refers to unserviceable electronic gadgets. They may be PCs, TVs, mobile phones etc.With increase use of electronic products there is an increased generation of E-waste. Main component of E-waste are color cathode ray tubules (CCRTs). CRT Monitors, it contains various hazardous substances like lead, mercury, chromium etc. E-waste is made of plastics, which contain bromine as flame retardant.

At present there is no legislation for the disposal of E-waste in India. CPCB is working on the formulation of E-waste in India.Amount of waste generated from 315 million computers are 4 billion pounds of plastics,1.2 million pounds of chromium, 1 billion pounds of lead 1.9 million pounds of cadmium. 400,000 pounds of mercury
